For the past nine years, the two of you have given your time, energy, and resources to our California State Association Board of Trustees. I want to take this moment to thank you for your contributions to what HLAA-CA has been able to accomplish, especially during the three years that I’ve been on the Board. You have been there when I needed advice, history on issues, or the voice of experience and encouragement when I was elected the new President.
When you were elected to the Board of Trustees, you brought years of local chapter leadership and a deep understanding of what HLAA-CA needed. You didn’t hesitate to offer support to other chapters and to our various projects. You both gave generously of your time on various committees and as officers over the years: Gail as Vice President and Lynne as Secretary.
This past year, HLAA-CA has been forced to adapt to the pandemic situation. You have dealt with the many frustrating technology challenges and stepped up to participate in online meetings, supporting our Chapter Leaders and fellow Board members. I sincerely appreciate your presence at our Zoom meetings, a clear statement that supporting HLAA-CA has been a priority for you.
Gail and Lynne, I know this is not the end of your HLAA journey. I am grateful for the time and energy you have given us and look forward to your continued involvement as leaders in HLAA-CA. As the future of the California State Association and our chapters continues to evolve, we will always need volunteers as dedicated as you two have been.
With gratitude for your service,
Katie Wright
President, HLAA-CA
