Join us at the 2025 Long Beach Walk4Hearing on Saturday, May 31 for a day of empowerment, connection and advocacy! This inspiring annual hearing health awareness and fundraising event by the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) will take place at Shoreline Park, 200 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, starting at 9:30 a.m. It is among 19 others taking place around the United States from May through November. The HLAA Walk4Hearing began in 2006, making this its 20th year.
Individuals, families and teams in the South Bay, Orange County and Los Angeles communities will participate in the Walk, raising funds for programs that bring hope to hearing loss. There is no cost to sign up or attend. Registered participants who raise a minimum of $100 will receive an event t-shirt; with additional incentives at $500 and $1000. Event check-in, exhibit tables and children’s activities begin at 9:30 a.m., with a presentation at 11 and the 5k walk through Shoreline Village and along the waterfront starting at 11:15, with free snow cones provided by Kona Ice afterwards. There will be an opportunity drawing on-site for door prizes.
Xander Glasses has generously donated a pair of its innovative XanderTM Captioning Glasses, valued at $4999, to aid in fundraising efforts.* These self-contained smart glasses project accurate speech-to-text captions on the lens in real time with no wi-fi connection needed, helping people with hearing loss to understand and participate in conversations. A special silent auction is being held online through Friday, June 27, open to any adult California resident. Proceeds will benefit the HLAA California State Association (HLAA-CA).
