Assistive Listening Devices
We use a hearing loop and have an exceptionally clear amplifier system. Use the T-coils (also called telecoils) in your hearing aids to hear clearly and to understand every word spoken at the meeting.
Hearing Aids not enough?
We have PocketTalkers (small microphone/amplifiers) to loan, they allow you to hear in noisy places like restaurants. If they work for you, we can help you buy your own at low cost. Contact George Chin Sr., georgechinsr@gmail.com and meet him at our meeting
Invitation
Guests are always welcome. Come early to get a snack and get acquainted. We serve the entire East Bay, including the communities of Oakland, Piedmont, Richmond, Emeryville, Kensington, San Leandro, San Pablo, Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, El Cerrito, and beyond.
Hearing Problems? Our meetings are fun, friendly, informative, and remarkably effective. There is always time for questions (on the meeting topic or not), and for discussing your problems with other members, who often have personal experiences they will be glad to share with you. Some of our members now have the Phonak Roger Pen and find it useful at restaurants. Questions not answered? We have a Small Group Meeting following the main meeting where there is time to air your personal concerns.
If you are considering buying hearing aids, our members will be pleased to discuss their experiences with different brands and dispensers. It is an excellent source of information on hearing aids and on the less expensive assistive listening devices (ALDs) that can solve difficult problems of hearing in meetings, restaurants, and other noisy places.
